Xerox Holdings Corporation (also known simply as Xerox) is an American corporation that sells print and digital document products and services in more than 160 countries. Xerox was founded in 1906 in Rochester, New York, as The Haloid Photographic Company.
The word xerox is used as a synonym for photocopy (both as a noun and a verb) in many areas: for example, “I xeroxed the document and placed it on your desk“. many dictionaries continue to include the use of “xerox” as a verb, including the Oxford English Dictionary.
